Hola, my name is Lukene, pronounced “Lu-keh-neh”. And if you’re really curious about it, it means “light carrier” in Euskera, an old Basque tongue (or at least that is what my parents and Google told me). But no stress, you can call me “Luka” like most friends do.
I am a Mexican trained anthropologist and freelance photographer, videographer & digital marketer traveling full-time. Currently based in Siargao Island, Philippines.
Photography is my primary mode of art, specially alluded to water and surf imagery. I do work for surf related products, surf events like competitions, festivals, retreats or surf camps. Aside to this, I document travel, cultures, and lifestyle with photography and filmmaking. I also work with individuals who want theyr photos taken for any special occasions.
Art helps me understand this world and myself in it. Anything that gets me to create and play freely within and out of my mind, soul and body, makes me feel purpose.
I love contemplating and feeling inspired by the life of this planet. I often find beauty in everything I see. Whether there is an overwhelming amount, too little, or absolutely no beauty; I use my skills and passions to challenge the shadows of life by turning it into a vivid and dreamy piece of art.
How did I get here?
